The country’s largest music festival, Iceland Airwaves, has been postponed until 2021. In a press release, the festival’s organizers said that safety was their priority and that they had committed themselves to stopping the spread of the coronary heart virus. “It is very important that we ensure the health and safety of our guests and staff and that we follow all regulations,” they said.
The team covered many scenarios, including social distribution, divided the audience into separate groups with less attendance and reduced the number of stadiums. “We returned with the same answer: there was no possible solution to return the festival by 2020.”
Airwaves will now move to November 3 – November 6, 2021. The 2020 lineup is also moving, so all the bands that would have played this year will still play next year. In addition, the festival’s organizers have announced 25 bands that will take part in 2021. See the full lineup below.
If you bought a ticket for the 2020 festival, you can keep it for the 2021 festival. “You got your ticket at the best price; they will not go down again, “they said.

The deadline for action is Wednesday 9 September at 23:50 GMT. “Please keep in mind, if you ask for a refund, buy it again, it will be at the current price or higher as the prices will not go down again.”
