Wages have increased much less this year than usual due to the corona pandemic and the postponed collective bargaining movement. During the second quarter, wages in Sweden increased by 1.4 percent compared with the same period last year, according to a press release from the Mediation Institute.
This means that the rate of wage increase has been halved compared with the first quarter when wages rose by 2.9 percent.
In October, unions and employers will resume the interrupted bargaining movement. The unions demand a 3 percent surcharge.
