In a study with 1.4 million Danish women and girls, the Statens Serum Institut has tried to find a connection between the HPV vaccine and a number of unexplained neurological disorders.
The conclusion is that there is no link between the vaccine and the symptoms of the disorder.
Attention has been paid to the hpv vaccine and its possible side effects for several years.
In 2015, TV2 brought a documentary, “The Vaccinated Girls”, in which a number of girls and women told about symptoms such as fatigue, dizziness, headaches, difficulty concentrating, nausea and pain after receiving the vaccine.
This has led the Statens Serum Institut to investigate whether the people who have received the vaccine more often than others experience diseases with these symptoms.
But that is not the case, is the conclusion of the study. The women and girls have been followed from 2007 to 2016.
Of the exactly 1,375,737 girls and women that the study has followed, 869 syndromes have been identified with what is called autonomic dysfunction. But there was no connection between the syndrome and the vaccine, it says.
The hpv vaccine is intended to protect girls against 7 of the 15 hpv types that are carcinogenic. The seven that the vaccine protects against account for up to 90 percent of all cases of cervical cancer.
After the TV2 documentary, support for the vaccine fell, but has since risen again.
