It will be Kristian Jensen (V) who replaces party colleague Claus Hjort Frederiksen in the Committee regarding the Intelligence Services in the Folketing.
Kristian Jensen writes this on Facebook on Thursday.
– I am glad that the group (Venstre’s parliamentary group, ed.) Has appointed me to the committee regarding. intelligence services.
– It is by nature not a task I can say more about, but I look forward to handling the task as best as possible, he writes.
In August, Claus Hjort Frederiksen chose to resign from the committee, of which he was chairman.
The former Minister of Defense’s decision came after the current Minister of Defense Trine Bramsen (S) announced that she would initiate an investigation by the Defense Intelligence Service (FE).
This happened after the Danish Intelligence Service (TET) was able to report on several criticisable – and potentially illegal – matters in the Defense Intelligence Service (FE).
Claus Hjort Frederiksen was Minister of Defense from November 2016 to June last year. It is for much of the period that the audit has examined.
He wrote in a comment about his exit from the committee that he did not want to sit at the head of the committee, which in everyday speech is better known as the Control Committee, when conducting an investigation of FE.
– As a former Minister of Defense, I find it most appropriate that no questions of impartiality can be asked in connection with a forthcoming study of FE.
– That is why I have announced that I will resign from the committee, wrote Claus Hjort Frederiksen.
