During the summer, Nørrebroparken in Copenhagen has especially attracted many young people who, among other things, have used the park to hold parties.
But the opportunity to meet in the park will be significantly reduced in the coming time, as the Copenhagen Police have chosen to introduce a temporary residence ban in parts of Nørrebroparken for the rest of the week.
It writes the police in a press release.
The ban is being introduced to prevent infection with coronavirus in Copenhagen, where several young people in particular have recently been diagnosed with coronavirus.
This is what police director Anne Tønnes says.
– We can not accept that larger groups gather at a time when we have to make an extra effort to reduce the infection in Copenhagen.
– Therefore, we are now introducing a temporary and time-limited residence ban in the parts of Nørrebroparken, where we have recently had challenges with many people in the evening and night hours, she says in a written comment.
The stay ban applies until further notice Thursday evening and the night until Friday, Friday evening and the night until Saturday as well as Saturday evening and the night until Sunday.
At the same time, the Copenhagen Police is adjusting the list of the so-called warning zones, which are areas that the police are keeping an extra eye on.
These are Kongens Have, parts of the common park, Islands Brygge, Dronning Louise’s Bro and the area by Sandkaj and Göteborg Plads.
However, the areas Amager Strandpark, Kastrup Strandpark (Sneglen) and the central terrace on Sønder Boulevard are no longer warning zones.
