17 municipalities in the metropolitan area are in full swing to find the spring posters about visit restrictions at the nursing homes. The Danish Agency for Patient Safety ordered them late Friday afternoon to immediately reintroduce the restrictions.
It writes TV2 Lorry.
The 17 municipalities that are now affected by partial visit bans are Albertslund, Ballerup, Brøndby, Dragør, Frederiksberg, Gentofte, Gladsaxe, Glostrup, Herlev, Hvidovre, Høje-Taastrup, Ishøj, Copenhagen, Lyngby-Taarbæk, Rødovre, Tårnby and Vallensbæk.
The message from the Danish Agency for Patient Safety came on Friday afternoon, and Gladsaxe Municipality has, for example, managed to get the following sentence on its website:
– On 11 September, the Danish Agency for Patient Safety asked Gladsaxe Municipality to close all nursing homes in the municipality for visits with immediate notice.
Rødovre Municipality is also among the affected municipalities. The municipality writes:
– The municipal council has today, as a result of orders from the Danish Agency for Patient Safety, introduced temporary restrictions on visitors’ access to nursing homes and so on. The restrictions are provisionally valid until 1 October 2020.
The restrictions in the 17 municipalities mean that all visits must generally take place outdoors. However, exceptions can be made in critical situations, just as visits can take place indoors if the visitor is the next of kin of the resident.
In a letter to the 17 municipalities, the Danish Agency for Patient Safety emphasizes that the order applies “with immediate effect” and no later than 1 October.
– Repeal will take place as soon as it is justifiable, the agency writes.
