There are local outbreaks of coronavirus in several places in the country, but the focus is particularly on the capital, which has been hit harder in recent weeks, and where there are more inhabitants gathered in less space than elsewhere.
Therefore, a press conference will be convened on Tuesday, where new initiatives are expected to be presented, especially in the nightlife, to combat the infection in Greater Copenhagen.
– The infection is at a high level. The number of inpatients has increased. The Serum Institute warns that we are on the brink of something that could develop into another wave. This is now the case, writes Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen (S) on Facebook.
It takes place on Tuesday at 12.30, where Minister of Health Magnus Heunicke (S) will explain new initiatives.
Minister of Justice Nick Hækkerup (S) and National Police Chief Thorkild Fogde will also be present in addition to professional director Kåre Mølbak from the Statens Serum Institut and several others.
In recent days, there has been talk of imposing injunctions in supermarkets and restaurants. As the press conference will be about initiatives in Greater Copenhagen, it will probably not affect the rest of the country.
Both health professionals and mayors in the metropolitan area have advocated for increased restrictions in Copenhagen’s nightlife.
And that will apparently be the focus.
– Of course we have a special look at the nightlife. Because we can not want it to continue with partying in the nightlife in Copenhagen, as we have seen recently, Mette Frederiksen writes further.
Among other things, mouth-watering bars and restaurants, new restrictions on opening hours and even a new closure of nightlife have been discussed.
From the nightlife and restaurant industry, it sounds like it could lead to more private parties or pirate parties where there is not necessarily as good control over the fight against coronavirus.
The Prime Minister refers to the need to keep your distance, get drunk and wear a mask.
According to the Statens Serum Institut, citizens must be prepared to turn down social visits in the autumn, so that fewer people are seen and in smaller groups.
