A moped driver is in critical condition after an accident in Grenaa on Tuesday.
Police investigations indicate that the 34-year-old man rode on the moped along a cycle path on Dolmervænget, but that he drove out on Mellemstrupvej despite an unconditional obligation to give way.
Here he was hit by a car.
The moped driver was thrown from the moped, which caught fire. Several people were able to extinguish the fire with a powder extinguisher.
This is stated in the East Jutland Police’s daily report on Wednesday morning.
The 34-year-old moped driver suffered serious injuries in the accident, and he was flown by medical helicopter to Aarhus University Hospital.
The hospital still describes the man’s injuries as serious on Wednesday, it appears from the 24-hour report.
It was a 27-year-old man who was behind the wheel of the car, but it does not say that he was injured in connection with the accident.
