During the week, the Danish late summer weather has shown itself from its warm and sunny side, and these trends continue over the weekend.
Even though several Danes on Friday morning wake up to the season’s first night frost.
This is the message from the meteorologist on duty at the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) Anja Bodholdt early Friday morning.
– The night until Friday has been cold in central Jutland. Around Horsens, Herning and Ikast, temperatures have been below freezing, she says.
In the rest of the country, the temperatures on Friday night have been between two and four degrees, but during the day they rise rapidly to between 15 and 19 degrees.
– It will be another day with lots of sun, and it will not blow very much, says Anja Bodholdt.
The rest of the weekend offers more of the same, she says.
This means that also Saturday and Sunday offer good hours of sunshine, and then the temperatures become a single or two degrees warmer.
The biggest difference from Friday will be that on the nights until Saturday and Sunday there may well be a lot of fog in several places in the country.
– This fog may well linger in the morning hours. It takes some time before it is burned off and the sun breaks through, but it gradually gets better, says Anja Bodholdt.
She says that motorists in the morning hours must therefore be extra careful.
Like Friday, it will not be very windy either on Saturday or Sunday. The calm weather is due to a fairly stable high pressure from the British Isles over Denmark.
Anja Bodholdt says that the stable late summer weather does not seem to change until the middle of next week, when a low pressure pulls in over the country again.
That means more periods of clouds, rain and wind, so it’s about enjoying the weekend weather for as long as it lasts.
