The Liberal Party’s deputy chairman and acting chairman, Inger Støjberg, has sent an email to the party’s parliamentary group, after she wrote in a Facebook post on Monday that it was going “completely over thread with all that MeToo and sexism talk”.
It writes Ekstra Bladet.
The newspaper is familiar with the content of the email and writes that Støjberg states to the group that sexism is a serious matter.
For that reason, according to the deputy chairman, it is crucial that “things are separated” so that the seriousness is not taken “out of the cases where women are actually abused,” writes Ekstra Bladet.
The debate about sexism was started in earnest when TV host Sofie Linde told in August that as an 18-year-old she had been exposed to sexism from a “TV cannon” in DR.
Several current and former politicians have since come forward with descriptions of how they have been exposed to sexism.
