Copenhagen Police extends residence ban in Kødbyen and Nørrebroparken until 30 September. The residence ban is valid in the period from 22-02.
– We are still in a serious situation with high infection rates. Therefore, it is necessary to maintain the austerity measures in the areas in question, so that we avoid people crowding with the risk of spreading infection, says Police Director Anne Tønnes in a press release.
The Kødbyen area on Vesterbro in Copenhagen houses a number of restaurants, bars and pubs.
Due to the current corona restrictions, these must close at 10 pm. To prevent the congestion in the areas outside, the police have therefore introduced a residence ban.
There is also a residence ban in parts of Nørrebroparken in Nørrebro in Copenhagen, where according to the police there is a risk that people will crowd together as an alternative to the closed nightlife.
– I would like to appeal to everyone to take responsibility and skip the festivities and go home when the city closes at 10 pm, says Anne Tønnes in the press release.
In addition to the actual prohibition zones, the police have established a number of so-called warning zones in Copenhagen. The zones are areas where the police keep a particularly watchful eye and where there are traditionally many people in the nightlife.
These include Gothersgade by Kongens Nytorv, where there are a number of pubs, Islands Brygge, parts of Fælledparken, Dronning Louises Bro, Vestergade, Göteborg Plads and the area by Sandkaj.
