At the Swedish Public Health Agency’s press conference, new recommendations were presented for people who live with someone who has covid-19. Healthy people living with someone infected with covid-19 are encouraged to stay home for seven days.
– This applies to healthy people who live in the same house as someone who has been diagnosed with covid-19. You should stay at home for seven days but be tested after five days, says state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell.
Family isolation means that even healthy people who live with someone who has been confirmed infected with the coronavirus are encouraged to stay at home.
Children in pre-school and primary school are not covered by the recommendation.
– Quite a lot of the infection, except in the workplace, occurs in homes. Therefore, we think it is reasonable that people who have covid-19 stay at home for a week to reduce the risk of spreading the infection further in a workplace, for example, says Anders Tegnell.
No new deaths in people with confirmed covid-19 have been reported dead in Sweden, according to the Public Health Agency’s latest statistics.
A total of 5,893 infected people have died in the country. 93,615 people have been confirmed infected with covid-19 in Sweden.
