It would look good for the government to enter into an agreement on an earlier pension for Arne and thousands of others before the Folketing opens on Tuesday. But that does not seem to be the case.
The government, the Socialist People’s Party, the Unity List and the Danish People’s Party are simply too far apart. Next meeting is Monday.
– I think there are too many loose ends for us to reach it – also because we can not negotiate over the weekend, when the Unity List has an annual meeting. So I think it will be difficult, says finance rapporteur René Christensen (DF).
The government had hoped for an agreement this week, but also no longer believes in an agreement before the opening.
The concern is that if the government’s schedule slips further, it could have consequences for when people can retire earlier.
SF also believes that it will be difficult before the opening.
– It would be fantastic, but it looks difficult to achieve it, says employment spokesman Karsten Hønge (SF).
In the negotiations, both the Socialist People’s Party, the Unity List and the Danish People’s Party have demanded from the government that more people should have the opportunity for early retirement.
But it seems to be very expensive to expand the government scheme. Therefore, the DF instead proposes to expand the scheme for senior pension, which was entered into between the bourgeois parties and the Radicals shortly before the election.
This could be done by reducing the requirement for a maximum working capacity of 15 hours, which is the entrance to senior pension.
The unit list proposes reduced time for those who cannot receive early retirement. SF is open to both ideas.
– The most important thing is to help some people. It does not matter to me what color the cat is. The most important thing is that it catches mice, says Karsten Hønge (SF).
The Danish People’s Party considers it a completely new round of negotiations that a new way must now be found to get more people covered by the possibility of early retirement.
– The negotiations are going well, and we have had many meetings, but the more we have negotiated and got the government’s model under the skin, the more it must be stated that it can never be fair.
– For example, when a sosu assistant who starts as a 20-year-old has not earned enough seniority. Her neighbor may be entitled to a pension despite seven to eight years on unemployment benefits and part-time work, says Rene Christensen.
Therefore, it is not realistic to reach the finish line before Tuesday.
Once the parties come close to concluding an agreement, the expectation is that the Liberals and the Radicals will have the opportunity to nod yes or no to the agreement that is.
The three parties generally criticize the government’s proposal to cut off large professional groups such as nurses and educators.
For the Unity List, it is a snag that the retirement age is set to rise to 69 years in 2035 as a result of the welfare settlement.
The Danish People’s Party is dissatisfied with the fact that foreigners who have lived or worked in Denmark will also earn the right to an early pension. It will not be possible to avoid, the party acknowledges, but it must be curbed.
As financing, DF has previously proposed immigration restrictions. But now the party has moved to a requirement that kiosks and pizzerias must have electronic cash registers, so that Tax gets easier by checking.
Both the Unity List and the Danish People’s Party will find more money by cutting back on rules and bureaucracy at the job centers.
