More than 1.6 million Danes have applied for frozen holiday pay.
And it creates bustle among cybercriminals who take advantage of the opportunity to defraud Danes of money, reads the warning from an expert and the police.

But if you are on guard, you can avoid being cheated.
Here is the police’s good advice:
* Never pass on personal information about your NemID.
* Be critical if asked to disclose your personal information – public authorities will never call or write and ask you to disclose your personal information.
* Search the website yourself in your internet browser, rather than clicking on a link you have received, to avoid fake links.
* Contact the company or authority that the senders pretend to be from and ask for the inquiry.
* Do not rely on the display of the caller’s phone number or sender on the text message. Scammers can change the display of the number they are calling from.
