Since Tuesday, a large proportion of Danish employees have been able to request payment of part of their frozen holiday pay.
The money was locked when a new holiday law was introduced, and had to be kept until people retired.
But now three of the frozen ones are paid out five weeks ahead of time. It should help kick-start consumption during the corona crisis.
But how do you get the money paid out? You can find out more here:
* Until 1 December, Danes can apply for payment of their frozen holiday pay.
* If you have the money for good, it can be seen and ordered via borger.dk, where you log in with NemID.
* Here you choose employment conditions. The vast majority will be employees. However, some groups will have to apply via a form.
* Then you will be able to see how much you can get paid. The amount will be before tax. It will be deducted when they are paid out.
* However, some employers have paid the holiday funds into a holiday fund, so tax has already been paid.
* The money corresponds to 12.5 percent of one’s holiday pay in the period 1 September 2019 to 31 March 2020.
* Then you must confirm a Faith & Love statement that the information you have provided is correct before the money can be ordered and you will receive a receipt in your e-Box.
* A few days later you will receive a letter about how much money is paid out and when it happens.
* It takes up to seven working days before the money ticks into your NemKonto.
* If the money is not requested to be paid out, it will remain in the LD Funds. They are paid out automatically at the state pension age, or if you leave the labor market before and here ask for them.
* The holiday pay is not set off against one’s public benefits.
