- Every year, the City of Västerås takes care of approximately 10-15 abandoned boats, according to Mattias Dahlberg at the Culture, Sports and Leisure Administration in Västerås.
- On Lövudden by Lake Mälaren in Västerås, the city has collected abandoned boats, right now there are eight there.
- “Often there is nothing at all on a boat that shows who owns the boat, as soon as it is not on a rented berth, we have no opportunity to find out who owns it,” says Mattias Dahlberg.
