Very soon, the Nobel Committee’s chairman Berit Reiss-Andersen in Oslo will reveal who will receive this year’s peace prize.
The favorites are many before the announcement, including the 17-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg.
Thunberg was diligent mentioned already last year and continues to be one of the main candidates for the Peace Prize, either alone or in combination with the organization Fridays for future.
Greta Thunberg herself does not think that she or the climate movement Fridays for future has any chance.

Another four Swedes, including former UN Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjöld and former Prime Minister Hjalmar Branting, have received the Peace Prize over the years.
Several young African women are also mentioned in speculations in Norway, including Alaa Salah, who was one of the leading figures during the large popular protests against Sudan’s former dictator Omar al-Bashir last year.
Other areas mentioned In the speculation, the struggle for democracy and human rights in the former Soviet Union, where, for example, the Russian organization Memorial and the recently poisoned opposition leader Alexei Navalny, is mentioned.
Several UN agencies are also among the favorites, such as the World Health Organization WHO, the UNHCR and the WFP food program.
