This morning, unions and employers resumed the las negotiations. The plan is to try to finish during the day or evening and tell about the result tomorrow at lunchtime.
At half past six this morning, negotiations on labor law resumed at the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise’s premises on Östermalm in Stockholm. Once again, large delegations are prepared on both the union side and among employers to take a stand on what comes out of the innermost bargaining chamber.
At the moment, nothing is said officially, but according to Ekot’s sources, it is primarily the parts that deal with rules for employment protection and dismissals, and precarious employment that remain to be agreed upon.
If the parties come Birgitta Nyström, professor of civil law at Lund University, agrees that an important change may be that it becomes easier to dismiss someone due to personal reasons, such as misbehaving in some way, but more difficult to hire on a fixed term.
– One can well imagine that employers who have the perception that it is extremely difficult to hire, because it is difficult to dismiss if you make a wrong recruitment, would be more willing to hire. And then not on time-limited contracts but for the time being, so-called permanent employment, says Birgitta Nyström.
Dealers should have arrived at a more or less complete package on a new adjustment system for skills development.
Carin Ulander-Wänman, associate professor of labor law at Umeå University, believes that it can have great significance in the labor market.
– Absolutely crucial, I would like to say that we get a system for the workforce’s skills development because the changes are happening so incredibly fast. We must keep up with the development that is taking place, both in the business and in the outside world.
If unions and employers now agree on this new adjustment system, will that be enough?
– No, the state must be a player that contributes financially with the financing if there is to be enough money in the system, says Carin Ulander-Wänman.
