Martin Lidegaard (R) writes in a post on Facebook that he does not doubt Ida Auken’s story about inappropriate behavior from former leader of the Radicals Morten Østergaard.
The announcement reads that several people in the management – including R-leader Sofie Carsten Nielsen – should have intervened earlier in Østergaard’s behavior.
And most recently, when Lotte Rod and Katrine Robsøe told about their cases. The honest realization I think is crucial for us to restore our credibility externally and trust internally, writes Martin Lidegaard
That is “the most important point”, writes Lidegaard.
The post comes after Ida Auken on Wednesday in a longer post wrote about an episode from 2017, where Morten Østergaard should have behaved inappropriately towards a woman.
In the advertisement, it was stated that Sofie Carsten Nielsen had covered Østergaard, even though Ida Auken had told her about the case.
Sofie Carsten Nielsen has denied that interpretation.
Martin Lidegaard also denies having “orchestrated” Ida Auken in connection with the announcement. He has not been aware of the cases in advance, he writes.
The case started when Morten Østergaard left the post as radical leader a little over a week ago after admitting to having laid a hand on party colleague Lotte Rod’s thighs ten years ago.
Sofie Carsten Nielsen became the new political leader.
Østergaard later wrote on Facebook that several years ago he became aware of three cases where women had experienced unwanted contact from him.
Since then, Member of Parliament Katrine Robsøe has come forward, while Ida Auken has told about the episode from 2017.
Sofie Carsten Nielsen commented on the case again on Thursday. Here she once again denies having known of the specific case that Ida Auken reports on.
