Nine-year-old Baltasar Máni had an exciting day at Tjörn pond yesterday when he became friends with a swan, Indicator reported.
Baltasar was feeding the swan with his family. One swan particularly liked him and climbed up a bench to connect with Baltasar at head height. Baltasar was able to pat the swan for half an hour and attracted the attention of many spectators.
Erla Ósk Ásgeirsdóttir, mother of Baltasar, posted photos and videos of the touch scene on Facebookand described it as a “unique moment” with a “beautiful swan”. “I have never experienced anything like it,” said Erla. “The swan chased Baltasar up on a wooden bench where he gave the swan brand new bread and they became best friends. The swan allowed Baltasar to pat himself for a long time. Baltasar himself was somewhat surprised by this. “
When feeding swans, it is best to give them flour, grains, lettuce and spinach. Bread is usually not good for them, but if you give them bread, make sure it is fresh, as mold can be toxic to them.
