Police drop ban in Kødbyen but keep an extra eye on

Fewer people gather in Kødbyen and at the skate park in Nørrebroparken after the temperatures have dropped. Therefore, the Copenhagen Police have decided not to extend the residence bans that have been in force at the sites.

This is stated by the Copenhagen Police in a press release.

This will again make it possible to move freely in Kødbyen in Vesterbro, which houses a number of bars, restaurants and nightclubs, when the ban expires at 02 on Thursday.

The previous prohibition zones in Kødbyen and Nørrebroparken will instead be warning zones. Here people can move freely, but the police are extra present.

– The number of infections is still high, and therefore we will continue to be significantly present, just as we will keep an extra eye on the warning zones, says Police Director Anne Tønnes from the Copenhagen Police.

– If we again see a development that poses a risk of infection, we are ready to introduce temporary residence bans again, she says in the announcement.

She believes it is important that people go home when the city closes at 10pm. This should help limit the spread of coronavirus.

The falling temperatures also affect which areas are warning zones.

Kongens Have, parts of Fælledparken, Islands Brygge, Dronning Louises Bro and the area by Sandkaj and Göteborg Plads are removed from the list of warning zones. There are four areas left.

In addition to Kødbyen and parts of Nørrebroparken, it is Vestergade and part of Gothersgade, where there are many pubs.
