Copenhagen police have identified a young man they want to talk to in connection with the death of a five-year-old girl in a hit-and-run incident in Frederiksberg yesterday.
Police have released a photo of Helmi Mossa Hameed, which they describe as 21 years old, 180 cm tall and of average build. He was last seen in black clothes.
Police advise the public not to contact Hameed if they spot him, but instead contact them immediately by calling 114.
Drove on foot
The five-year-old girl and her mother were hit by a car outside Peter Bangs Vej 252 around kl. 16:00. After the accident, the motorist left the car and fled on foot.
Although they were on foot, photos from the crime scene show that the mother was pushing a bicycle and that the girl was possibly pushing one as well.
The mother’s condition is unknown, but she was able to speak to police after the incident.
Looking intensely
“A mother and daughter were walking on the sidewalk when they were hit by a car. The daughter is dead, โconfirmed Thomas Tarpgaard, deputy inspector at the Copenhagen police.
“We have a presumption about who he is and are intensely looking for him. We are in the process of questioning witnesses, and a car inspector has been called in to investigate the accident further.
