TAYS announced on Friday that the proportion of positive samples was 15 out of 1,014 samples analyzed on Thursday. Anyone with even mild flu-like symptoms should stress that they need to be tested for the virus immediately.
According to the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, the Pirkanmaa Hospital District as a whole is in the process of accelerating the epidemic. The number of new infections detected in the district was 23 on Saturday and 13 on Sunday, the first being the second highest since the epidemic began.
The hospital district recommends that people wear face masks in public transportation, indoor public events, and colleges. In addition, local employers have been instructed to allow their employees to work as remotely as possible.
People who are not tested have yet to be observed in the Helsinki and Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), Asko Järvinen, Chief Infectious Diseases HUS, said Helsingin Sanomat on Sunday.
“I haven’t heard any reports of anything like that,” he said. “It would naturally be dangerous if that were the case. People who test positive for the disease have had a particularly high number of contacts and the number of people exposed has been high.”
