The wage negotiations between Svensk Handel and the LO union Handels have stalled, and now the union is announcing a strike.
As of Friday next week, just over 5,000 commercial employees will go on strike unless the parties agree on new collective agreements. These are employees in stores, in warehouses and in e-commerce.
Trade has, among other things, demanded higher wage increases for the low paid according to the LO coordination and more secure employment. The union wants to reduce employers’ opportunities to hire on a fixed-term basis.
