Icelandic Meteorological Office has issued yellow storm warnings across almost the entire country, which will be in effect from afternoon until early tomorrow.
Warnings have been issued for the South, Faxaflói, Breiðafjörður, the Westfjords, the North, the Southwest and the East. A strong southwesterly gale can be expected with rain in the south and west of the country. Wind speeds can be expected to be around 18 to 23 meters per second and wind gusts can reach up to 35 meters per second near mountains.
Looking further into the week, it looks like a cold day on Friday with temperatures ranging from 0 ° C to 5 ° C, and winds 10-18 m / s.
On Saturday it will be southwesterly 8-13 m / s with rain or sleet and temperature 1 ° C to 7 ° C.
On Sunday, the weather should be brighter overall, but with some cloud cover and showers in the west and south of the country.
The Meteorological Office warns dangerous roads and dangerous driving conditionsand encourage drivers to be careful on roads in all areas.
