The court in Glostrup ruled that the woman should be sentenced to six months in prison. However, in principle she must not serve the sentence that has been made conditional.
– It has probably spoken in an aggravating direction that she was the administrator of the Facebook group where the video was shared, and that at that time there were about 1500 members of the group, says senior plaintiff Peter Rask from Copenhagen West Region Police.
The woman has also previously been convicted of violating section 266 b of the Penal Code on insulting mention of various groups – also called the racism section.
Back in March, police filed charges against 14 people for sharing the video. The accused were at that time aged 13-69 years. The oldest has since turned 71.
Several have been convicted. Among them are two boys aged 16 and 17 and an 18-year-old woman. Their sentences were all three months’ conditional imprisonment, which does not have to be served if the convicts live up to different demands.
In addition, a woman at the Court in Næstved has also been sentenced to three months probation in the case.
24-year-old Louisa Vesterager Jespersen and 28-year-old Maren Ueland were on a hike in the Atlas Mountains shortly before Christmas in 2018.
Outside the village of Imlil, they were found killed. The killings were committed with a knife, and the bodies were beheaded.
Four men were sentenced to death in October 2019 by a Moroccan court.
Morocco has not executed a death sentence since 1993.
