* This year marks the 33rd edition of the European Film Award. Due to the corona pandemic, this year the award ceremony will be held virtually from the European Film Academy’s headquarters in Berlin from 9 to 12 December.
* Films with a Danish touch have won in the main category “Best European Film” several times. Among others “Melancholia”, “The Square”, “Dancer in the Dark” and “Breaking the Waves”.
* Claes Bang won a European Film Award in 2017 in the category of “Best European Actor” for his role in “The Square”.
* Trine Dyrholm has twice in her career been nominated for the award “Best European Actress”. Last year for May el-Toukhy’s “The Queen” and three years before for the Thomas Vinterberg drama “The Collective”.
* Jakob Cedergren can also boast of two nominations. Back in 2010, he was nominated in the category of “Best European Actor” for his performance in “Submarino” and eight years later for his role in “The Guilty One”.
