From Iceland - William Hurt Acting in Grímur Hákonarson's new film

Hollywood stars take part in the cast of director Gríma Hákonarson’s new film The fence, according to news from the American film news site Deadline for submission.

The film, starring Miles Teller (Whiplash), Shailene Woodley (Golden Globe nominee) and Oscar winner William Hurt (Kiss Of The Spider Woman, A History of Violence), is a political satire that tells the story of liberal newlyweds. to fight with its conservative neighbor over the 9-foot fence that the neighbor erected to protect their home from terrorist attacks.

Shooting for the film is set to begin in March next year and will be Grímur’s debut in English. Grimur is best known for his award-winning film in Cannes Rams, which recently received a remake in English, Rams, starring Miranda Richardson and Sam Neill, and, recently, The county. The script for the fence was written by Shane Danielsen from Grímur’s story.

This will not be the first time directed by an Icelander by Shailene, who previously worked with Balthasar Kormák on the film 2018 Operation.

Grímur hopes that the premise of the film will attract many buyers and investors, given the current polarized political climate and the actors that come with it. The project will be launched at AFM in the coming weeks, where it will be presented to financiers.
