At the award ceremony Isbjørnen, which the Nordic Film Foundation is behind, she received the honorary award on Thursday afternoon, which is a tribute to one of Denmark’s most beloved actors.
And the fact that it is an honorary award named after the Olsen Banden icon means something special to the 46-year-old actress.
– When I was little, there were two people I wanted to be: One was Skipper Skræk, and the other was Egon Olsen. He was my big hero, and I sat clinched to the screen when there was “Olsen Banden” in the remote, says Mille Dinesen excitedly.
– When I got a little older, and Ove Sprogøe appeared in other roles, I understood that the reason I thought Egon was so cool, was because Ove Sprogøe was an immensely good actor, she says.
In the motivational speech, which Ove Sprogøe’s son, Henning Sprogøe, was behind, emphasis was placed on the actress’ performance in the TV series “Rita”.
At the award ceremony, two more prizes were awarded.
The Nordic Film Prize went to director Malou Reymann, who is behind “An ordinary family”. The film is based on the director’s own upbringing with a father who changes gender.
The third prize, which is Erik Balling’s Travel Scholarship, went to photographer Louise McLaughlin.
She has most recently been a photographer on “Our Man in America”, which is director Christina Rosendahl’s film about the Danish ambassador to the United States during World War II.
The honorary prizes also include a cash prize of DKK 50,000 for the Ove Sprogøe Prize, DKK 75,000 for the Erik Ballings Travel Scholarship and DKK 114,000 for the Nordic Film Prize – here DKK 1,000 is given times the age of Nordisk Film.
