The Swedish taxi companies have lost a lot of sales during the pandemic, and it is expected to get even worse after the decision to ban alcohol sales at the restaurant after 10 pm. Now leaders of the taxi industry are demanding clear measures.
According to Claudio Skubla, who is chairman of the Swedish Taxi Association, the demand for taxi journeys will go from an extremely low level to probably almost nothing.
He that he is dissatisfied with the government’s support measures and wants to see targeted support for the taxi industry. Since March, expenses for taxi journeys have fallen by just over 80 per cent, card payment statistics from Swedbank show.
Claudio Skubla considers that the government’s support measures have been sufficiently accurate for the taxi industry.
– I honestly do not know how the companies have survived, says Claudio Skubla to TT and continues, if the support does not come now and become more adapted for the taxi industry, I do not know where it goes.
