An additional 850 corona cases have been registered in Denmark. It shows figures from the Statens Serum Institut (SSI).
However, a delay in obtaining Saturday’s test results may have affected the number, it is stated. It may also affect the numbers on Monday.
The number of confirmed cases of infection is also well below the level seen recently.
Over the past five days, there have been more than 1,200 new confirmed cases of covid-19 in Denmark every day.
Since the last update on Saturday, there have been responses to 58,018 samples. In the previous four days, more than 70,000 tests have been answered every day.
On Sunday, 1.47 percent of the test results are positive for covid-19. It is slightly below the share for the rest of the week, where it has fluctuated between 1.55 and 1.77 percent.
A further 28 people with covid-19 have been admitted since the most recent census. The total number of inpatients increases by 17 to 254, as there are also patients who have been discharged.
Svend Ellermann-Eriksen is chief physician in the department of clinical microbiology at Aarhus University Hospital.
He estimates that the health service can currently keep up with the number of inpatients.
– It is loaded, but not heavily loaded. Fortunately, there is still a long way to go. But it can be felt in the hospitals, says the chief doctor.
The number of inpatients has doubled in the past month. However, there is still some way to go up to the level in the spring.
Here, more than 500 patients infected with covid-19 were admitted to the country’s hospitals.
On Sunday, 39 corona patients were admitted to the country’s intensive care units. Of these, 22 are connected to a respirator. On Saturday, the numbers were 40 and 21, respectively.
There have also been three deaths among people infected with covid-19. This brings the total death toll among corona victims in Denmark to 784 during the epidemic.
