There will be no strike in the construction industry, it is clear since both the union and the employer side accepted the mediators’ offer.
The new agreement gives the union better control over the work environment, says Byggnad’s chairman Johan Lindholm to Ekot.
The trade union Byggnads and the employer party Byggföretagen have agreed on a new collective agreement. As a result, the threat of a strike tomorrow is lifted. Byggnads had warned around 1,400 of its members around the country about the strike.
According to the union, the reason for the dismissal was the employers’ reluctance to tackle long-standing problems with fatal accidents and crime that are looming in the workplace.
The new agreement, which provides wage increases of 5.4 percent over 29 months, applies from the first of December.
