The Helsinki District Court has sentenced a 44-year-old man to four years in prison for robbery for an injection that took place at the Helsinki Central Library in Oodi in February this year.
In its judgment, the court dismissed the charge of murder against the defendant.
The four-year sentence was justified by the court because the man had previously had convictions for various charges, including murder. He was on parole parole situation when he was released from prison in September 2018 completing about half nine and a half year sentence.
The psychological assessment also found that he posed a potential danger to the lives, health and freedom of others.
A 26-year-old woman was sentenced in the same case to three years in prison, including guilty robbery. The two defendants were reported to be unmarried.
The stinging victim, a 27-year-old man, was fined for a drug offense.
Individual parties involved in the incident provided conflicting reviews of pre-stabbing incidents.
The court heard that, according to a stabbing victim’s report, the couple tried to rob him when he was allegedly selling an opioid in the toilet of a Subutex library.
Defendants stated in largely consistent accounts that the stabbing victim began the fight. The court heard that there were no other eyewitnesses present.
