Earlier this year, the 60-year-old man was sentenced to death by a subordinate court. The news caused a stir because, according to the then Minister of Foreign Affairs and Integration Inger Støjberg (V), Morocco should have given the Danish state a guarantee for his safety.
In connection with the subordinate court’s death sentence, the Ministry of Immigration and Integration informed Ritzau that the Danish authorities did not expect the sentence to be executed.
