A total of 20 countries, all of which have reported cases of the British variant, are covered by the entry ban. This also applies to Sweden, Germany, France and Austria, among others.
The ban will run until January 15 and applies to both Filipinos and foreigners.
According to ABS-CBN, passengers who are in transit and who enter the country before 30 December will be allowed to enter. But they have to be quarantined for 14 days.
The quarantine applies even if a negative corona test is performed.
The Philippine government has previously imposed a ban on entry from Britain.
According to the Statens Serum Institut (SSI), a total of 46 people in Denmark have been confirmed infected with the virus variant from England.
The mutation was found in positive samples between November 14 and December 18.
However, there may be quite a few more, SSI estimates, as not all corona samples are checked for the new variant.
The mutation has been found in all five regions in Denmark.
