  • Fifty journalists were killed because of their work around the world in 2020, according to a compilation by the organization Reporters Without Borders.
  • That is less than what was killed per year in the last twenty years.
  • But an increasing proportion were killed in countries that are not at war, says Erik Halkjaer, who is chairman of Reporters Without Borders in Sweden.
