The city of Turku in southwestern Finland has been included in the list of cities that will visit when the coronavirus crisis is over, compiled by the US newspaper The New York Times.
The list, which consists of 52 cities from around the world, highlights key destinations worth visiting as soon as the pandemic is over.
The Aura River and the city’s proximity to nature chose Turku as the best features Avanti Chajed, a doctoral student living in a city.
"Turku has undergone some change in recent years, and we have a thriving restaurant industry and a wonderful archipelago for visitors who want to get to know the nature around our city," said Lotta Bäck, Visit Turku International Marketing Director.
"We are very pleased that The New York Times has appointed us as a post-Covid travel destination. It is a heartwarming feeling waiting for the future, and more hope that these challenging times will soon be over," Bäck stated.
