Modern: Our coronary vaccine ensures immunity for at least one year

The immunity to Modern’s coronavirus vaccine lasts for at least a year, the American medicine manufacturer said at a health conference on Monday.

Moderna said that the company is confident that the so-called mRNA technology used in the vaccine is also well suited to new variants of coronavirus that have been discovered in several countries, according to Reuters.

The MRNA-1273 vaccine uses a synthetic mRNA to mimic the surface of the coronavirus and train the immune system to recognize and neutralize it.

In December, Moderna said they would perform tests to see how the vaccine handled new strains of coronavirus.

The company expects to deliver between 600 and 1,000 million doses by 2021.

On Monday, it was announced that the Moderna vaccine would arrive in Norway today.
