All transport with trailers on trailers across the Great Belt has been stopped for the time being.
It happens after a citizen on Wednesday afternoon made the police aware that a carriage on a freight train tipped over on its way over the low bridge in the direction of Funen.
The train was stopped in Nyborg, where it was found that a truck trailer from Carlsberg on a wallet was not in the locking stool.
It writes the Ministry of Transport in a press release.
For many, the tilting carriage will probably evoke memories of the accident that killed eight people two years ago.
– Two years ago, a loose truck trailer on a freight wagon triggered a tragedy on the Great Belt Bridge. Therefore, it is also clear that it runs cold down my spine when there is a new incident that evokes memories of it, says Minister of Transport Benny Engelbrecht in the announcement.
He goes on to say that it is too early to say anything about the cause or to guess what could have happened if the accident had been out.
– At the same time, it is quite clear that freight traffic can not continue as normal until there is more knowledge about the incident.
– Therefore, all transport with trailers on trailers across the Great Belt will be stopped, and I have asked that within a few days there is a plan for what the next steps should be in relation to getting a thorough review of safety, says the Minister.
