- In Mali in West Africa, Swedish special forces are now in place to be able to take action against terrorist groups and criminals who are active in the country.
- In the multinational force called Task Force Takuba, Sweden contributes 150 soldiers as well as helicopters and transport aircraft.
- Sweden’s participation in the force has been decided by the Riksdag following an invitation from Mali and its neighboring country Niger.
