From Iceland - Reykjavík Police catch American duo over possible quarantine breach

Published February 11, 2021

Reykjavík police are searching for two American men on suspicion of breaking a pandemic last Sunday.

They were at the Lebowski bar by Laugavegur, clearly discussing the fact that they should have been quarantined at the time, according to Indicator. Bar staff called the police to report the incident but the men had left the bar when police arrived on the scene.

Jóhann Karl Þórisson, assistant chief of police in the city, said: “We did not reach them, but we are going to talk to them this week,” according to Fréttablaðið.

The current regulation stipulates that those who come to Iceland must take a double exam, with a five-day quarantine in between (in a certain way) exemptions).
