- Following the Chinese ban on British BBC World News, the international news channel is now also being removed from Hong Kong’s public service company RTHK.
- BBC World News is said to have violated broadcasting rules and, among other things, “damaged China’s national interests”, according to the Chinese Radio and Television Authority.
- The Chinese ban comes after a Chinese state television channel was stopped in Britain last week, when the British regulator ruled that the channel was controlled by the Chinese Communist Party.
