- According to the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency’s avalanche forecast service, avalanches are currently likely in many parts of the mountain range, especially on slopes where fresh snow and drift snow have accumulated, and the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency therefore calls for great caution and says to avoid skiing in steep terrain.
- According to Saturday’s avalanche forecast for Jämtland County, there is currently a significant avalanche danger, a third on the five-point scale, in both the southern Jämtland mountains and the Västra Härjedal mountains.
- “Avalanche danger normally varies relatively much between different areas, but right now we see similar patterns in all our forecast areas,” says Petter Palmgren at the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency avalanche forecasting service.
