New Delhi [India]February 14 (ANI): Disha Ravi, a 21-year-old climate activist arrested yesterday from Bengaluru, is the editor of the document “Toolkit” related to the farmers’ protest and a major conspirator in the document’s formulation and dissemination, confirmed Cyber Crime Cell in Delhi police on Sunday.
“Disha Ravi is the editor of Toolkit Google Doc and a major conspirator in the formulation and dissemination of the document. She started the WhatsApp group and collaborated to make Toolkit doc. She worked closely with them to develop Doc,” tweeted Delhi police.
According to CyPAD Delhi Police, the editors of the toolbox collaborated with the pro-Khalistani Poetic Justice Foundation to spread discontent against the Indian state. Ravi was the one who shared Toolkit Doc with the Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg.
Ravi later asked Thunberg to remove the main document after its incriminating information inadvertently entered the public domain, Delhi police said.
On Sunday, Ravi was presented before a court in Delhi that detained her five-day police prison. Disha Ravi broke down in the courtroom and told the judge that she had only edited two lines and she wanted to support the farmers’ protest.
Last week, Delhi police sent a message to Google to search for registration information and activity logs for the account, through which a “toolbox” related to the farmers’ protest was created and uploaded to the social media platform.
Two email IDs, an Instagram account and a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) were mentioned in the toolbox and the police have asked for details from each platform.
The police had registered an FIR against unidentified persons in connection with the creators of the “tool kit”.
Farmers have been protesting at various borders in the national capital since November 26 last year against the three recently adopted agricultural laws: Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020; Farmers Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act 2020 and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
