- Vehicle giant AB Volvo has been forced to stop parts of production due to a lack of so-called semiconductors, which are used in parts for trucks.
- “There is a global shortage of semiconductors, we need semiconductors to install in our products and right now we have had a production stoppage in our factory in Belgium, as a direct cause of this global shortage,” says Claes Eliasson, press manager at Volvo.
- The other Swedish vehicle manufacturers, Scania and Volvo Cars, have so far not had to stop or reduce production due to this.
