In a report on Friday, the Climate Council recommends that Denmark initiate new initiatives to achieve the climate goals.
Behind the recommendation are the eight ordinary members of the council and the chairman, all of whom are appointed for a four-year term.
The Climate Council, which advises on and assesses the Danish climate efforts, nominates candidates for vacant positions in the council. They will then be appointed by the incumbent Minister for Climate and Energy.
Here are the members of the council:
* Chairman: Peter Møllgaard, Dean of the Maastricht University School of Business and Economics.
* Vice-Chair: Jette Bredahl Jacobsen, Professor of Environmental and Resource Economics at the University of Copenhagen.
* Deputy Chairman: Jørgen Elmeskov, former member of the Climate Commission, former national statistician and former senior member of the OECD.
* Council member: Bente Halkier, professor of sociology at the University of Copenhagen.
* Council member: Per Heiselberg, professor at the Department of Construction, Urban and Environment at Aalborg University.
* Council member: Marie Trydeman Knudsen, senior researcher in the sustainability of agricultural and food systems at the Department of Agroecology at Aarhus University.
* Council member: Katherine Richardson, professor of biological oceanography and head of the Sustainability Science Center at the University of Copenhagen.
* Council member: Niels Buus Kristensen, head of research at the Department of Transport Economics, Oslo.
* Council member: Poul Erik Morthorst, Professor Emeritus of Energy Economics at DTU Wind Energy.
