- The Court of Appeal upholds the life sentence of the 47-year-old man convicted of the honor killing of Reza Hoseini in Kiruna. With regard to the punishment for the sons, the Court of Appeal reduces the sentence by a few months each to 2 years and 6 months for the 15-year-old and 3 years and 6 months for the 17-year-old.
- It was last summer that the then 20-year-old Reza Hoseini was chased into a bus in Kiruna where he died of nearly 100 knife injuries. The Court of Appeal believes that the father to a greater extent than the sons had a motive of honor.
- In December, the father was sentenced to life imprisonment in the district court, the 17-year-old to four years of closed youth care and the 15-year-old to two years and eight months of closed youth care. The verdict was appealed by all parties.
