As a young woman, she and a group of disabled people were part of the theater group Aarhus Krykensemble, where she played a circus director who showed disabled people behind a rug.
And when she talks today about the tractor accident that cost her her life in 2014 during the filming of “Father of Four’s Wild Holidays”, she notes that it was lucky that she did not have to die in a Father of Four movie .
Humor has always pulsed in the veins of actor Bodil Jørgensen, who turns 60 on 3 March.
– I think the most fun thing about using humor is the tragicomic. We all know very well that we must die eventually. But it is as if time stands still when laughing or crying together.
– That’s what we as humans can do. We can share some slightly bigger moments that I would like to help create, she says.
Bodil Jørgensen graduated from the Statens Teaterskole in 1990 and has played a large number of roles in film, theater and television for three decades.
She herself highlights the role of Karen in Lars von Trier’s dogma film “The Idiots” as one of the highlights of her career.
In addition, she highlights the years as a permanent employee at the Royal Theater as well as the role of Mrs. Andersen in TV2 & apos;’s “Badehotellet” and the mysterious grandmother in DR & apos;’s Christmas calendar “Julefeber” from 2020.
And then of course Rytteriet, where she together with colleagues Rasmus Botoft and Martin Buch have enjoyed provoking and seeing the fun in the terrible.
– It is as Rasmus Botoft says: “We have to go completely into the mind.” If you want to awaken something in the audience or make them look somewhere else, then you have to touch them. And kick for something. You do not have to kick them in the liver or in the crotch, but something is needed.
Among the difficult periods of life, Bodil Jørgensen mentions the accident in 2014, where she fell from a tractor and was subsequently hit by it during the filming of “Father of four’s wild holiday”.
She broke several ribs, both lungs collapsed, and she subsequently lay in a coma for several days.
– I would have liked to have been without that accident, but I was so lucky that I survived, and I am completely mobile today.
– It had been a slightly annoying cause of death. So, dead on a Father of Four movie? It is then a slave finally, she says.
Privately, Bodil Jørgensen is married to film photographer Morten Søborg and has three children.
