The hackers have gained access to the information in Finnair’s frequent flyer program, according to the airline’s statement.
The system violation affects about 200,000 Finnair Plus program members, the airline added.
Finnair reported the hacking to the airline’s information system service provider last Saturday and notified the Finnish Data Protection Agency.
The information, including names, customer numbers and meal and seating requests, was taken, but the airline emphasized that the hackers did not receive contact information, payment card information or passwords, and Finnair’s own systems were not affected by the hacking.
The airline advised customers to change their Finnair Plus password.
