* The production of fish takes place in large nets that are kept afloat by means of floating rings, which are anchored to the seabed.
* The production period is approximately seven to nine months from April to October / November.
* Production is based on the release of 600-1000 grams of large trout, which are purchased from freshwater fish farms and then released in the fish farms.
* Here the fish grow and during this period reach a weight of about two to four kilos.
* The net cages are taken up in the winter, where they are cleaned and repaired for the coming production season.
* Production of fish in aquaculture affects the environment in different areas.
* Nitrogen, phosphorus and organic matter are emitted, which come from feed waste and excrement, among other things.
* According to Statistics Denmark, the 19 fish farms produced approximately 14,000 tonnes of fish in 2018.
